Your first treatment

During your first visit, Brenda will need to gain a thorough understanding of your main complaint and your general health and lifestyle.

This involves asking questions about your current symptoms and your medical history, as well as such things as your sleeping patterns, your appetite and your diet. Consideration is given to presenting conditions as well as any underlying constitutional strengths and weaknesses.

Acupuncture-cuppingBrenda will also take your pulse on both wrists, examine your tongue and may feel for areas of muscular tension or pain.

Based on the above information, Brenda will then make a diagnosis and put together your treatment plan. The treatment plan may include lifestyle, dietary advice, Chinese herbal medicine as well as acupuncture.

Brenda uses fine sterile needles to stimulate specific acupuncture points on your body. Because channels of energy range across the whole body, the points used are not necessarily close to where you experience pain or

discomfort. For example, if you suffer from headaches, needles might be inserted in your foot or hand.

The needles stay in place for between 20-45 minutes, during which time most individuals drift into a state of deep relaxation and may even go to sleep. Allow one hour for treatment.
